Market and Growth Strategy

  • Over the last two years we have worked with an energy services provider to develop its corporate strategy, taking account of the increasing complexity of the market and the alternative channels for service provision as the sector moves towards Net Zero.

  • We advised an independent network operator on its five-year business plan, taking account of expected changes in policy, technology, competition in its key markets, and drivers of changes in consumer behaviour.

Regulatory Strategy

  • We are currently acting as advisors to UK Power Networks for the RIIO-2 price control. This is a multi-year engagement covering a wide range of business plan inputs, including: consumer research, policy advice and development, and incentive design.

  • We advised a major water company during a multi-year engagement to advise on the development of strategy through the PR19 process. We considered the implications of new regulatory policies, before working closely with them to help develop effective response strategies.

Independent Review

  • We reviewed the performance of an energy efficiency fund as it sought investments to deploy its capital.

  • We advised Ofgem on whether Elexon had the capabilities to act as Programme Manager for the major energy industry programme to implement market-wide half hourly settlement.

  • We supported an energy services provider with a business plan review of a number of potential acquisitions across the energy sector.
