Consultant at Complete Strategy

July 2024

Full-time position, London based. Does this sound like you?

Who are you?

You are a strategic thinker who wants to help stakeholders in the energy and utilities sectors address the energy transition, develop market growth strategies, respond to regulatory and policy changes and provide independent challenge to their thinking. You are interested in technological and social change and how these impact both the regulated and competitive parts of the energy and utility sectors now and as the transition develops. You are keen to work as part of a small team, working at a high pace and are looking, and willing, to continue to learn and grow.

Who are we?

First and foremost, we are energy and water experts. We have a deep understanding of the changing market conditions and policies that market participants, investors, new entrants, regulators and policymakers need to navigate. We use our experience and imagination to advance industry thinking, addressing some of the most important changes in our markets.

Our expertise means we provide independent and insightful advice to:

  • Guide our clients through the challenge of the energy transition

  • Address and influence regulatory and policy change

  • Identify market opportunities for our clients based on technological or policy changes

  • Support disputes, performance reviews or benchmarking exercises

  • Help our clients deliver improved products and services to their customers

  • Support our clients in providing shareholder returns.

What will you do?

If you join Complete Strategy, you will be involved in our business from day one. As a Consultant, you will work with clients on a day-to-day basis, supporting them as they tackle complex problems, and developing conclusions backed up by rigorous analysis to underpin our recommendations. You will turn our recommendations into action, working hand-in-hand as part of a mixed Complete Strategy-client team or providing independent advice. You will work on client sites, from our offices in Central London or remotely, according to business needs – typically you will be on client site or office-based 3 days a week.

You will continue to develop your consulting skills in a supportive environment and start to build client relationships.  You will collaborate with other team members and be encouraged to coach others in areas where you have specific consulting or technical skills. In addition to client delivery, you will support business development and practice management activities, helping the business as it grows.

Your work at Complete Strategy will include client projects and practice support.

Client projects

  • Working directly and collaboratively with clients to enhance their teams, starting to take responsibility for specific deliverables and displaying the highest standards of professionalism and integrity

  • Using your analytical and critical thinking skills to solve interesting and unstructured problems and starting to propose conclusions.

  • Communicating your findings effectively through high-quality deliverables, including written reports, presentations and data analysis.

  • Participating in, and supporting, effective client meetings and workshops.

  • You are expected to display initiative and work independently in line with your experience.

Practice support

  • Keeping up to date with industry developments and applying your insight to support the production of high-quality thought leadership and blogs.

  • Contributing to proposal and pitch material and supporting client engagement activities.

  • Opportunities to get involved in the wider activities linked to running and growing the business.

  • Continuing your own personal development as part of the growth of the company.
